Forest house

This home is a Bicycle house through and through. It is an exceedingly well-insulated, compact home with great detailing, designed to meet a tight budget for a family of four. The enclosure is so effective at eliminating heat loss and air infiltration that there was no need for a complex heating system; thermal comfort is achieved with just the electric radiant floor tiles in the bathroom and a few supplementary baseboard heaters. A heat recovery ventilator (HRV) provides constant fresh air while retaining the heat. Solar hot water and Galvalume roof complete the package.
